A fast-growing European technology company is looking to hire a Backend Engineer to join its product engineering team in Stockholm. The business is modernising a large traditional sector through software, automation, and intelligent workflow tools, with an established customer base and continued international growth plans.

This is an opportunity to join a lean, high-performing team where you will have real ownership and direct influence on the product. You will work closely with users, build features end to end, and help scale a platform already trusted by major commercial customers.

Must Haves:

Strong backend engineering experience building production systems

Commercial experience with Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI

Experience designing and building APIs, integrations, and scalable backend services

Comfortable owning features end to end, from idea through to production

Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with short feedback loops

Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken

Able to work in a hybrid setup in Stockholm

Product mindset with a focus on solving real customer problems

Nice to Haves:

Experience with Pydantic, MySQL, Google Cloud Platform, or event-driven systems

Exposure to TypeScript or close collaboration with frontend teams

Experience working in start-up or scale-up environments

Interest in AI, automation, and applying new technologies to practical use cases

Strong views on architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices

Experience working directly with customers or business stakeholders
